About San Pedro on Ambergris Caye

Ambergris Caye is approximately 25 miles long by 1 mile wide and is located about 10 miles off the coast of mainland Belize and is surrounded by the turquoise blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. It is the largest and most populous “island” in Belize’s territorial waters. It is the primary destination for travelers coming to Belize. San Pedro Town is the only town on the island. Over the last thirty years San Pedro has experienced explosive growth in tourism, principally for scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing enthusiasts. It has also become home to many ex-pats from the US, Canada, and elsewhere.
