In this quaint place we call home, we love to enjoy the great offerings that some of our favorite bars and restaurants muster up.  On Friday’s let Stella’s Wine Bar entice you with music by Eddie McGuire, wine, and their famous bean dip and chips. Or if you are heading into town, Wine De Vine offers up Thursday Flight Day, a great way to try some new and interesting wines.  If you are looking for an over the water place and want to stay north of the bridge, Rum Dog is a place to hang your hat and listen to great music on Thursday Nights.  Wednesday nights at Wayo’s has become lady’s night, come out and dance the night away with your besties!  If sports is your attraction, then head to Crocs for amazing sunsets and tons of TVs!  And you can’t forget Crazy Canuck’s Tuesday night crab races, a must do!  And, of course, the famous Palapa Bar, when any night is fun, with great drink specials.

3 Miles North

Our friends at Aji Tapa Lounge & Restaurant, located 3 miles north of town, just started to celebrate Saturday nights!  Upon arrival, you park your golf cart and stroll through the beautiful grounds, walk over the wooden bridge and keep an eye out as you may just be lucky enough to spot a crocodile.  Once over the bridge, make your way towards the lighted beach. If it is “date” night, a romantic dinner on the beach awaits you, but if you are more inclined to come with your “gang” of friends, they have plenty of room to spread out, listen to fun music, and enjoy great conversation! 

Meet Mike and Sandy Lohr

Aji is owned by Mike and Sandra Lohr. This South Dakota couple has a pretty famous last name when it comes to the wine industry. If you don’t know Lohr wine, they are one of the top wineries in California, known as J Lohr.  Mike moved to San Pedro with his wife Sandra a couple of years ago and purchased Aji, joined together with Bella Vista, the onsite boutique hotel, and they have not turned back. They have been renovating the hotel since they moved here and recently purchased another property to continue building the Bella Vista business.

The menu on Saturday night does not disappoint with its delicious tapas, delectable dinners, along with ½ price bottles of amazingly great wines! On the dinner menu, you will find everything from Paella to Conch Curry to a Savory Filet Mignon.  But first, start off with their famous tapas, the Crostini is scrumptious and the Delicians de Elx (bacon wrapped dates) are a one of their specialties!  And don’t forget the Thai Shrimp Bites.
